How to buy a FREE SIM with NO subscription pack?...

Hi, I'm going to be moving to an area soon that has very limited network coverage so my only option is EE.

I do not want a contract because I only use my phone for outgoing calls/texts/data in emergencies but I need to be contactable, so PAYG is also my only option.

I simply want to order a PAYG sim that I can transfer my old number to, and top up as and when I see fit. But it seems I am unable to go to the "free" sim webpage and order a sim without signing up for, at minimum, a £10 subscription pack. https://ee.co.uk/mobile/free-sim gives me 4 options, all of which are paying EE for a sub pack that I won't use in order to get a sim card to swap networks.

Is it even possible to order a sim without signing up for a monthly subscription?

You can't! But you can remove it immediately & use the SIM as traditional PAYG.

All EE PAYG SIMs come primed with a recurring Pack of allowances ready to bought out of your PAYG credit as soon as it is sufficient.

Text STOP PACK to 150 before you 1st top-up & you can use the SIM for calls & texts but not data as normal PAYG at standard per-unit rates paid for out of your standing PAYG credit balance.

To save the SIM going into hibernation due to lack of use, just remember within every 179 days (~ 6 months) to make a chargeable action like making a chargeable call or text, topping up or buying a Pack or Add-on, not just using your mins, texts or data from any Pack or Add-on you might have.
