Free EU PAYG roaming to an end in May 2023?

Just had EE sales call me and at first they told me roaming was free on contracts, then never believed me when i said it wasnt. Then i told them it was on PAYG and they said nope, went away and spoke to a manager and came back and said i was correct, but its all changing in May and wont be free at all on anything. Is this correct?

@CMBlink  Free roaming is not included with any contract taken out after the 7th of July 2021 as for PAYG until something official has been announced then you will not get an answer for that.
