Hello everyone,
I need to buy an EE SIM card preloaded with a one-time allowance of data, texts & calls to pop into my phone just for while I'm on holiday (£10 or £15). I need it NOT to renew after 30 days and NOT to become my permanent number. I've ordered a free EE SIM online but had to nominate a pack (I chose the £15 one as the data allowances are so tiny). Speaking with an EE advisor, I understand if I want to prevent it renewing, I have to telephone 150 before using the SIM card and tell them so (or immediately text STOP PACK to 150) to prevent any second charge being taken when the pack expires. I find this a worrying and unacceptible way of doing things (I'm used to Vodafone, which I like as it doesn't top me up automatically, it gives me warning when the pack is expiring and I can opt to buy another, which I don't unless I am away for more than 30 days - unfortunately they have no network coverage where I'm going on holiday!). I thought you could just buy a prepaid single-use EE SIM card with £10 or £15 worth of data/texts/calls on it and when you've used it up, that's it? Can anyone confirm this for me (or otherwise)? Thank you.

Just don't top-up the 2nd time & the primed pack can't renew. Packs can only be bought when there is sufficient credit.

Thank you. That's how I hoped it would work (and how Vodafone does) but EE told me you have to give your card details to register the first SIM card/pack and they'll then take money from it every month subsequently unless you stop it, which I'm not comfortable with incase the stop doesn't register. I'm not in a position to lose any money!

No, you can top-up ordinarily & manually. You only need register for auto Direct Card Payment if you want 10% off the price & want it continuously.

That's great news, thank you! I won't worry so much now.
