How can I unblock my account? I am not in the UK (in China) and can not phone the number given.
I need to speak/explain the issue to an online representative.
Is there any way to do this?

Yes, it's gone into hibernation. Receiving texts won't keep it alive. So getting your mate to text you won't help anyway. You needed to make some chargeable action.
Try calling CS on the Freephone no. in my sig. on Skype over WiFi. It should be free.

Sounds like your PAYG SIM may have gone into hibernation.
When did you last use it for a chargeable action? EE PAYG SIMs are deactivated after 6 months of non-chargeable use. You then have a further 3 months to call EE to reactivate it before it is lost completely.
You needed to make a chargeable action like making a chargeable call or text, topping up or buying a Pack or Add-on, not just using your mins, texts or data from your pack.
Alternatively, Had you used that PAYG SIM for making calls or texts in UK before you left to go abroad? To be used abroad EE PAYG SIMs need 1st activating on EE's home UK network. If it wasn't you can't now use it until you return to UK.

Thanks for the prompt response.
I only use the number to receive SMS for online banking and my share account. I've been all around the world with this number, keep a small. unused credit on the account and have never had this issue. There was no warning about lack of use, no SMS to tell me to use it or accept the consequences, just disconnection on the 12th March (according to my usage record in the account). Also they banked the remaining £30 credit.
I've re-topped up this morning, had a colleague try to SMS me to no avail.
I just need a physical rep to unblock this as the 150 free number is not available to my now-defunct EE number.

Thanks again.
I used the Skype number and resolved the issue with minimum fuss.
Many thanks!
