£27 in credit but cannot use data

I have consumed all the data, but I have £27 in credit, why I can use £27 in lieu to pay for data? I discovered I am out of data while I was out and had to face huge difficulty getting home since I am epileptic and cannot drive myself

@Sansupercool : You can't buy data directly from your credit like you can with calls & texts. You 1st need to buy a pack or data add-on.
