£1 pack stop and re-start

tclulow

I have a £1 pack which renews automatically every week. I have built up a large number of "boost"s for voice, sms and data.

I'm not going to be able to use this phone for a couple of months, so would like to stop the auto-renew but can't see how.

I can stop the pack, but I'm worried that I won't be able to re-start it again, or that if I can restart it, I will have lost my boosts.

So how do I pause/stop the pack and restart it again? Will I still have all my boosts?

The £1 pack is a legacy pack. If you don't allow it to auto renew you can never start it again as you can no longer rebuy it.

If & when you switch to the more modern packs you will not lose your old free Boosts.

That's not really my question.

I don't want to cancel the pack, I just want to stop the auto top-up for a while.

Whilst I'm abroad I can no longer use the voice/sms/data the pack provides so just want to keep some credit in my account so I can make calls/sms if I need to (at roaming rates unfortunately), and resume the pack when I return to UK.

If the pack keeps auto-renewing it'll drain my balance to no purpose.

Tony.

I believe I have! If you don't allow it to auto renew, as you want, by not having enough credit to buy it when it's due to renew (that's not cancelling it), you can never get it back again.

Hi there @tclulow

Thanks for coming here.

Please see our How do I set up card payments for pay as you go? for details on stopping the recurring card payments.

If you have a recurring Card Payment, you could try stopping that by texting STOP REC to 150 w/out doing a STOP PACK.

It's not auto-recurring card payments I'm concerned about. I top-up as and when I need to.

I wanted to suspend my pack whilst I can't use it (I'm abroad) and resume it when I'm back in UK.

It seems that's not possible, which is disappointing to say the least.

Oh, I thought you had recurring card payments when you said :

Now it turns out that it's not auto but on demand.

You could try not topping up to £1 or more while you are away & hope that the next time you top-up to £1 the £1 pack will auto renew but I don't know how long it will wait for auto renewal.

There seems to be confused terminology.

I top-up my credit as and when I need.

The pack auto-renews every week - £1 is taken from my credit.

It's this £1 for the pack that I want to suspend whilst I'm abroad. The pack doesn't do me any good abroad (as roaming is no longer included) and I won't be making any calls at the roaming rates. But just in case of emergencies, I'd keep some credit on my account. I don't want that credit "wasted" on the pack which I can't exploit.

That's right! You top-up on demand. It's the pack that auto renews!
