I have tried to action this offer, which was why I decided to buy the phone via EE but when I try to input my new Pixel 9 Pro IMEI, it just keeps saying invalid promo code. Can someone please assist me in carrying out the trade in? I see others are having similar issues. I am glad I took screenshots. If this cannot be actioned I will be cancelling my upgrade.

Hey there @cantonbean1980

Welcome to the EE Community!

What handset it it you're looking to trade-in, and is it just the last 8 digits of the IMEI you're putting in?

Peter

It is a Pixel 4XL 128GB and yeah I am trying just the last 8 digits.

Thanks @cantonbean1980

So I can take a closer look can you please pop me over a link to the page that you're viewing here?

Also is it the promo code box at checkout you're popping this number into, or is it the EE recycle site?

Peter

It is on the recycling site. These deals were on all four of the new pixel pages but as they were pre-order deals are now all removed. Hence why I screenshotted them.  It was not possible to add the trade-in at POS because the pre-order needed my Pixel 9 Pro to arrive before actioning the trade in as I needed the IMEI of the 9 Pro so the trade in is £480 as opposed to £20. There is someone on here who is having the same issue with their pixel fold pre order.

I'm suffering the same issue. I couldn't arrange a trade-in at the order point and was advised that I'd be able to do it via the recycling site after the fact. That last 8 digits of the new IMEI go unrecognised. Speaking to the third party a week ago, they said they were awaiting details from EE. Do we know when these are to be sent?

Thanks for explaining all of that for me @cantonbean1980.

If it's on the trade-in site itself that you're seeing these errors, then I'd recommend contacting them directly to flag the error and see if it's possible to arrange this by any other means.

You can contact them direct via email to eeconsumer.uk@likewize.com or call 0208 732 3798.

Peter

So you spoke to eeconsumer.uk@likewize.com or call 0208 732 3798? The problem is that the return window is finite so neither of us can't be mucked around!

@cantonbean1980 I'm confident if you reach out to them to get this flagged you'll be able to get this sorted out.

Please keep us posted on how you get on, though.

Peter

Hi Peter,

I just spoke to trade in and they say they are aware of the promotion and that it is valid. They have said that they are waiting on EE to send over the IMEIs and that it can take up to 30 days for the process to be activated to allow the enhanced trade in on all the Pixel 9 range. Thank you for your help. Happy as just moved all our products for phones, tv and broadband as a family over to EE and didn't want a negative experience to change that.
