I recently received a text to say EE are freshening up their SIM plans and gave me a few options, all of which were slightly more expensive. I was offered a 30 day rolling plan at £13 a month or a 24 month plan at £10 a month, the latter suits me better having a work mobile also. Happy to stay with EE for 24 more months also.
I have now gone through the process and ordered the £10 a month offer.
My question is, will I get a new SIM card? The phone is still working fine, but I have had the same SIM card for about 5 or 6 years, maybe more, so suspect it may not be 5G compatible?
Id like to take advantage of the 5G where I can in the limited areas but it appears I may need a new SIM or eSIM?
Any advice or guidance much appreciated.

Hi @CarlH
If the plan details shows access to 5G, this would be a 5G plan.
If you would like to make sure, please call us on 150 and the team will check this does have 5G access for you 🙂

Hi @CarlH
Thanks for coming here.
For a SIM upgrade no new SIM card is sent out.
Was the plan 5G that you selected? To access 5G you would need a 5G plan and 5G compatible phone, this would not need a new SIM card.
Leanne 🙂

Hi Leanne
I am hoping it was a 5G but perhaps not? The plan suggested was the "Essential SIM 25GB", which states
- Access to 5G Network
- Unlimited Minutes
- Unlimited Texts
- Excellents Speeds - Max 100 Mbps
Kind regards

Hi @Leanne_T
It must be a 5G plan as the 5G icon was present today when I went to work. 😉
Kind regards
Carl
