Pre ordered iPhone 17 promax

I pre ordered iPhone 17 pro max  from EE on an upgrade on 12 September 2025 at around 1:15pm… after a few minutes I received a confirmation email that my order has been confirmed and that delivery will be on the launch day which is today 19 September 2025.  On 15th September 2025 I tracked my order through the ee app and website and it appeared that my order has been confirmed and dispatched (there was a note there not ring ee) so waited until this morning 19 September for the delivery tracking but I haven’t received any. So I rang ee and I was told that my order hasn’t been dispatched and the unit is out of stock and I have to wait 21 days for it to be delivered. My question is where did I do wrong? What’s the point of pre ordering if the item on the launch date is out of stock? The ee manager  on the phone  offered £35 to be deducted because of what happened I didn’t accept I said I deserve to have my phone today and I have asked to escalate my complaint but he said I couldn’t do it.  I don’t know what to do next… this is not right.
