Phone ordered 27-12 not shipped

Hi community,

I have ordered a iPhone 16 Pro Max Black 1TB on 27-12-24:

I have had confirmation and paid for next day delivery (£10)

After contacting EE I was refunded the delivery as they do not have stock.
I am disappointed that I wasn’t told that there was no stock as I ventured sim only upgrade and was going to procure the phone under other methods.

Still waiting for the phone.

The phone is currently £1550 on Very but EE are charging me over 1700 on a flex. I questioned this and they told me that it was due to the price Apple charges them. I’m very tempted to cancel the lot as I currently do not have phone or new contract start and no one can tell me:

When the phone will become back in stock?

Why am I paying 8.49% above the current rate on my flex contract for the handset?

Hi @Anto_2012

You are free to buy the phone anywhere hence why it is a separate contract. Very sell a wide variety of goods and services and can offer discounts other retailers, and finance benefits cannot the same as AO.com, Amazon etc. EE also need to make a profit.

I would add it was DPD first day back on the 27th and highly unlikely you would have received the handset until this week.

Thanks

@Anto_2012   are you comparing like for like?

Apple will do free next day delivery for £1499, but of course you will need a sim contract as well which will depend on your needs.

Hi Northerner,

Thank you for your response. I have been in the EE shop and they are giving out flex contracts at cost price. Not pre-inflated. I originally thought it was 0% Apr due to pre inflating the price by 8.49% and that’s why EE do as 0% Apr. But considering the shop gives at cost price. It just don’t make sense.

DPD - That makes perfect sense.

Hi Mustrum,

EE have given me a good sim price but said it has to be with the phone. I wish I could cancel phone but keep airtime deal but have been told this is not possible.

Just tried EE and if I cancel phone then it also cancels sim deal.

wont be able to go back over sim deals if I cancel… disappointed by the whole thing.

but at least I have now been told phone will be back in stock in 3 days. So I’ll wait and just carry on with the agreed contract.
