Item returned to Consignor, but why?

Added the PS5 dualsense edge controller to my monthly bill and it was due to be delivered today, but as I’ve been working nights I was asleep at the time of my allocated delivery slot which was at the crack of dawn and the delivery driver would require a PIN number. After the failed delivery attempt DPD had immediately updated the tracking to say “Your parcel is going to be returned back to EE” followed by “Return to consignor has been requested”. It’s annoying how they’ve immediately just sent it back instead of trying to redeliver or holding it at a pick up point. I’ve tried to call 150 to find out why it’s being returned but none of the options it gives me mention accessories so I’m just wondering if anyone knows how I should go about this.

Sorry to hear your accessory was returned to our warehouse. I understand you'll be eager to get your controller as soon as possible to enjoy your gaming. 

When you call 150, just select the option for general account enquiries and the team will be able to check the delivery history and details. 

While you're with them, they'll also be able to reorder the controller for you so that you receive it as soon as possible.

When you call 150, just select the option for general account enquiries and the team will be able to check the delivery history and details. 

While you're with them, they'll also be able to reorder the controller for you so that you receive it as soon as possible.
