DPD returned my phone without attempting delivery

DPD say I refused delivery yet never rang my doorbell or attempted delivery and the upgraded handset has now been sent back to EE.
What do I do? How do I rearrange delivery. Will you contact me once the phone is received back by you? Will my new contract start date be changed seeing as I haven't yet had the phone?

@Lwarnell Once that device has been processed as a return your account will change back to an upgrade state and any upfront cost will be paid back to you in around 5-10 working days. Your new contract will not start.
