Credit check for existing EE customer upgrading to iPhone 18 Pro Max

I’m already with ee with a sim only ….. I’ve literally just got off the phone to them about my My order for the new iPhone 18 Pro Max She told me my order has gone through and they were sorting out a carrier. I also asked her has it actually gone through as my credit rate is terrible she said yeah it’s gone through we dont do credit checks when you already have services with us ……. That’s what I’ve just been told from an advisor whether that is the truth. I do not know I’m not going to get my hopes up with it though but they did just state that they don’t do credit checks when you already have services with them…… and trust me my credit score is terrible so if it goes through and I actually do receive the phone happy days for me but I will definitely come back here to let you know

Thanks for coming to share your experience. The credit check does depend on what type of plan you take. Taking a Flex pay contract which has one credit agreement for the phone and then another monthly payment for the airtime plan, will typically involve a credit check being performed since it is a new credit agreement being done for the phone.

However if you are upgrading to a bundled plan where there is just one combined monthly payment, those wont require a credit check and will instead just go off your EE account credit history.
