"Apple Music Inclusive Extra" is not working!

Hi there, I recently upgraded my mobile contract, and they linked my broadband account with my mobile. As part of the upgrade, they gave me Apple Music as an 'Inclusive Extra' and sent me a text with a link to activate it.

However, when I click on the link, it takes me directly to the Apple Music app on my iPhone, but nothing happens. It shows that my previous subscription expired in May 2024. I didn't receive any code, by the way.

Hi @gtunc,

With the Apple Music extra, this is just activated via the link rather than a code being sent. The link should just be https://itunes.apple.com/carrier and then it should verify your subscription via your number.

As such make sure your number is showing correctly within Settings> Phone> My number. And try following the link whilst on mobile data rather than Wi-Fi, without any VPN enabled and before following the link make sure the app has been fully closed down rather than just minimised.

If you are still having issues try uninstalling and reinstalling the app and giving the phone a restart and see if the link then loads up the activation correctly.

Hi Alex, thank you for the response. I tried your link and again, it took me to the Music app and opens the home page. That's it. No indication of a renewed subscription etc.

However I can play songs, download playlists as if I am a paid customer. But when I check my subscription status it says "your subscription has ended oin May" (which was my previous subscription).

One thing to note though, I called Apple and they said if I had apple music through ee contract in the past then I can't have another one again. Do you think this could be the reason? If so can I get this removed frim my account and redice my monthly payments?

Hello @gtunc

I believe this is only the case for any free Apple Music trials.

If you have this as an Inclusive Extra you should be able to access it OK.

I'd recommend getting back in touch with technical care so this can be looked into further.

Hi @Katie_B

I contacted the EE technical team and they let me know that even though Apple Music is not showing/confirming, I am still using Apple Music as if I'm a paid subscriber.

I can listen, download and create playlists as usual but the "manage subscribtion" section shows that I'm not a paid subscriber strangely.

I think Apple is not recognising EE's inlcusive extra as a paid product.
