Xbox game pass still subscribed after account cancellation

Hi,

I left EE some time ago (well over a year) and today I discover on my Xbox that game pass is still present.

I'm unable to cancel this via Microsoft and my EE account has no active service and shows errors in places.

How can I get this cancelled fully? I have not used my Xbox since the EE cancellation

Hi Lesley, Appreciated but as I said, this was closed in February this year, 2/2/25 to be exact. Nearly 3 months is pretty considerable.

Hi guys, Game Pass is still active on my Xbox account, it's been several months since I raised this at this point. Can anything actually be done? I am not using Game Pass on this account just in case.

What I have done instead is create a new account and subscribed through that. I shouldn't have to do this though.

Has anyone had success deactivating game pass through EE after leaving EE?

Steve

Absolutely nothing as yet, got a PM on the 19/4/25 asking for details and not a peep since other than a message 2 weeks later asking for more information. It's been passed to a "team" which team god only knows...How can this be this difficult?

I left EE ages ago and they're still linked to and paying for my game pass
ultimate. I've given up trying to contact them and Microsoft just sends you
back to EE. They're loss as far as I'm concerned and EE should have better
systems and processes in place.

Hi Steve,

I’m in the same position. Posted here, Peter from EE direct messaged me for some details, and said it would go to a team to get investigated. Nothing happened.
Looks like we’ve all been told a similar thing and not to worry, but as they say there’s no such thing as a free lunch!
I know it seems like we’re getting something for free, but personally I’d rather have control over my account. As it is neither Microsoft nor EE can help from what I can see.

Cheers,

Jon

I have signed up with a separate account to avoid the use of the EE linked
subscription. But it is a pain to not have that account available to me.

It should have been resolved when I left EE, having paid off the rest of
the balance as well but seems there's a gap in the system somewhere.

I'm so fed up of this, I've made a complaint, I doubt anything will happen because of the complaint but once I'm through the stages of that I'll take it to the Telecoms ombudsman. Probably get some comp from it too....

EDIT: AMAZING...within minutes of posting this I get another DM telling me they haven't had an update yet but will let me know once they do. Sorry, I realise its not the fault of the staff member who messaged me but this is going on WAY too long for something that should be incredibly simple. Which is also clearly an issue given the amount of people who have posted about it here and god knows how many other people who haven't even noticed yet.

I closed my account at the end of Feb with the end of my contract and have just realised I'm also still getting Game Pass Ultimate which I had as a smart benefit on my contract.

Called the Number provided by Peter at the start of the thread and they've said there's nothing left outgoing on my account so thought I'd post here to hopefully get a resolution.

In the same boat as JonnyTurbo where I fear I'll get slapped with a bill in the future for not paying for months of "free" Game Pass.

I'm doing nothing now. I tried contacting Microsoft and EE and neither has
done anything to rectify the problem.

EE is paying for my Xbox subscription, that's now their problem and
mistake. They can't make anyone pay as it is their error.
