Turkey holiday

Hello, I’m going to Turkey in august for 11 days . I’ve been told I can buy a roam abroad pass add on for £15 for a month. Which means I can use my phone for minutes, texts and data ( up to 50gb) as normal as if I was in uk. Has anyone done this before and know if this is true.

Hi James, I did think that and spoke to an employee at EE on live chat and he guaranteed me it did work for Turkey. I’ve even took a SS of what he said as I didn’t believe it to be true

Hi @Waterboy80,

I'm sorry if you weren't given the correct information during your live chat.

You can view the full list of included countries in How do I get the Roam Abroad Pass?

Hi, I just renewed my contract and was told by the rep that roaming in Turkey was available with the addition of the "Roam Further" add on.

Now having looked it up, it seems that was a pack of lies.

Welcome to the community, @baldermore

Sorry to hear that. The Roam Abroad Pass is for the following countries: New Zealand, Australia, Mexico, Canada and USA.

Check out our roaming tool for charges and add-ons in Turkey.

Try searching for eSIM. Personally, I use airalo when in Turkey, not sure if it needs a phone capable of eSIM (probably does)

Hi Chris,

I see there is a 500mb travel data pass that costs £7.84 per day and a call package for another £7.84.

That's £220 over a 2 week holiday. A bit more than the £15 roaming pass that I was promised when I renewed.

Thanks BlueMeany, I'll take a look but I don't think my phone can handle eSims.

I suspect I'll just have to get a local sim when I arrive.
