I’ve just had a call from ‘ee’ claiming to offer me 30% discount. I don’t know any further details other than they are going to call me back this evening to discuss. How do I know whether this is genuine?

@Apeshape01 It’s probably a scam. Do not give them any information like account passwords or banking information. The current scam is someone will call you offering you a deal. They will place the order for you and it’ll turn up at your address it won’t be the device that you ordered and you’ll be then asked to send that device back to an address that they give you and your stuck with a contract in your name and they get the device.

Thanks all.
I used the ee chat service who was able to confirm it was a scam. No personal information was handed over on the call, so all good. The caller’s number was forwarded to ee fraud service on 7726

Hi, I have just received the same type of call from this number: 020 3404 5568
they said they are from EE and would offer discount but have no information about me and start asking firstly how much is my bill, then where should we send the contract to, which is when I stopped them as clearly was too fishy.
