Apple Music Inclusive Extra Has Never Worked

Ditzy5912

Hi, I have Apple Music as an inclusive extra but I have never managed to get it working.

When I click the link to set it up in the text message from 150 I get the following message

"No subscription through mobile network provider..find out if you are eligible to try apple music for free"...if I click continue it says validating and then I arrive at apple music app saying I can get 1 month free, if I exit the 1 month free pop up and check my apple music profile it gives me an option to join apple music.

Apple music shows as my chosen inclusive extra in myee

According to this page, it should work:

https://ee.co.uk/help/mobile/extras-and-add-ons/inclusive-extras/get-apple-music-on-ee

See: What's included with Apple Music? It says:

There is access across your devices, all ad-free with the option to download songs for offline listening.

Sorry, I thought you said you'd received a code to enter, I was trying to ask if that came from EE or Apple, but phrased my question badly, @Yellow-Banana.

I recommend speaking to our Mobile Care team so they can check that everything is set up correctly from our side.

OK, I've got to the bottom of this after calling EE, who transferred me to Apple technical support, who transferred me to a second Apple support person in the iTunes (Apple Music) department.

The short answer is that it is working fine on both my Android phone and my iPad Air. The longer answer explains my confusion.

On my Android phone, after clicking the applemusic.com/ee/welcome link that I had received by text message from EE, I eventually (see earlier posts) got a screen full of music, showing that Apple Music was indeed activated. But when I go to the top-right of the screen and bring up the Account dialog, the first section is Subscription but there is nothing shown there.

On my iPad Air, if I go to the top-right and show the Account dialog and click on Manage Subscription, it shows that I am in a 7-day free preview of Apple Music Voice. In fact, this is out of date since I was in that trial months ago but not anymore.

Essentially the problem is that since the subscription was not purchased through Apple, the Apple Music user interface in both cases is not showing a subscription. But it works anyway.

Thanks @Yellow-Banana . I did the original post and never got it working (or at least I didn't think it was working).

I didn't reply earlier as didn't want to break the flow of the conversation.

I ended up picking a different inclusive extra, but might try apple music again now.

I did try to raise this via telephone but didn't get anywhere.

I'm sure this will help others..so thanks again for persevering.

Hi. I have now got the same problem, as I changed my inclusive extra away from Apple Music for one month, but have now re-selected it - but the info clearly hasn't made its way to Apple, as the app says "no valid EE subscription" when trying to login.

Any suggestions?

Hi @RichardDavies76,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

Did you receive a text message with a link to activate your subscription?

James

Yes, and I get the same message when clicking on it, unfortunately

Sent from Outlook for iOS<>

Have you tried following the link over mobile data with WiFi turned off @RichardDavies76?

Just tried that and still get the same message

Thanks for checking @RichardDavies76
