£2.29 eu roaming charge

I have just upgraded my phone and did not add eu roaming to it yet the charge can’t be removed. I’m slightly confused as I’ve only had the phone a week and have not left the house never mind the country.

@Rachaelwholey : It's not a charge as such. It's a free add-on. Practically everybody on contract has it & it can't be removed. All it does when & if you are roaming in the EU is allow you to use your UK allowances there at a charge of £2.29 for any day that you do so.

If you do go a'roaming, remember to text ROAMING to 150 before you leave UK to ensure that roaming is activated on your a/c, not just your device.
