network connection failed

I don't seem to be able to send and receive any texts, not just automated ones. My sim card can't connect to any network. I tried automatic network, it didn't work. then I tried to manually connect to available networks, it failed too.

I don't know what to do.
I really need it to work. I attached my accounts to it and now I can't receive the verification code!

From the sounds of your post, I presume you're currently roaming abroad - is that right?

If so - does your phone have network coverage? If not, that will prevent anything that relies on it - calls, texts & mobile data. Are you on pay-monthly or PAYG? The process to enable roaming - allowing your phone to connect to foreign networks - differs between the two.

PAYG phones are auto-enabled for roaming once used in the UK first. Pay-monthly needs to be manually enabled, normally by texting ROAMING to 150 before leaving the UK.

I wasn't in the UK in first place when I buy this sim card. I don't know what type exactly it is but I bought this from Dubai. it works fine so far but it's been a couple of days that I'm having my vacation in Iran. Here, I'm having this network connection problem, it seems that it can't connect to any local networks. Do you have network problem in this area (Iran)?

I don't know the roaming service is activated for me or not, because as I said I bought this sim from out of the UK, so I think maybe roaming was activated by default for me (please let me know if I'm wrong)

regarding the payment method, I pay 5 £ every 3 month.

Is it an EE SIM card you purchased @artima?

EE SIM cards are usually only sold in the UK and need to be connected to the EE network in the UK to be activated.
