have 5g sim only plans suddenly become more expensive?

I vaguely remember looking at 5G sim only plans a little while back and they seemed pretty decent value.

 

I think I was looking at unlimited data, and it came with a couple of smart benefits (the only one Im particularly bothered about is the roaming one). Now, if I wanted that plan it would be £45 a month (35+10) which seems to be a lot more than I remember. (I might get my existing long customer discount of £5 carried over though?)

 

I'm on one of the older 4G max plans paying about £27 a month and specifically remember that the 5G plan would have been cheaper then what I'm currently paying.

@hotjambalaya , You do not have to upgrade to a 5G SIM card, you can still use your Max Plan, where you have EU roaming with 5 other countries included, but new plans do not include the free roaming like they used to, all changed, and plans like everything else in life, has become more expensive, normal in my opinion, nothing stays the same, and as we left the EU, unfortunately, new plans do not include the EU roaming, unless you have roam further or the smart benefit where you can roam the EU and 5 other countries.
