i've attempted to search for this on google and on the ee community without success

I'm currently on the unlimited sim only package 5g and i share my data with other family members i get around 105gb on my unlimited plan to share at the start of the month

i find i'm not using alot of the 105gb so i'm considering reducing my tariff to 100gb

would i still be allowed to transfer the 100gb to other family members or is it less than 100gb you get on the 100gb tariff hope i've explained my question adequately for you.

@Chris_B is spot on, but I would like to add some more info regarding Gifting on Limited Plans vs Unlimited Plans.

Limited Data plans allow you to Gift pretty much All of your Data at any time during your Monthly Plan Cycle, there are no Time Restraints during the Month, as long as you have enough Data Left to Gift, Your Gift Limit will stop when you reach the 500mb Reserve Data from the Gifter, so technically you will not be able to Gift when your Data Allowance drops to 1gb remaining (999mb) or you reach the end of the Month.

On Unlimited Data Plans you can Gift up to 120gb (some Plans are 100gb some are 120gb) during your Monthly Cycle, but there is a Time Restraint on the Gifting, as on UL Plans, the Giftable Allowance comes out of your own actual Data Usage, so in other words the Clock starts Ticking on your Gifting Allowance at the beginning of each Month,  ie, You have the 120gb Gift allowance on your UL Plans, this 120gb is not available during the whole Month, it reduces with Usage, lets say in your first week of Usage you use 80gb of Data for your own use, and now you want to Gift some Data, the maximum amount of Data you can now Gift is reduced to 40gb (80gb Used + 40gb Giftable = 120gb).  so once you have used 120gb for your own use, you no longer have any Giftable Data to Gift, its gone, spent.

So because of the above UL Data restraints, its always best to Gift any Data you wish to Gift at the very Beginning of every Month or as soon as you can before your start to use it yourself. if you have more than 3 numbers on your Gifting Account (ie, ULD + LD + LD), there is nothing to stop you from Gifting All of your 120gb to one of the Numbers at the beginning of the Month and then leave it All on that other Number (Park it there) its now safe in terms of UL Time Restraints and you can then Gift from that Number to another Number during the rest of the Month  subject to the normal Limited Data Plan rules.

Its also worth noting that if you do Gift Data from your UL Plan, what ever the amount that is Gifted will come out of your 600gb Fair Use Policy (FUP), so ie, if you have Gifted the Full 120gb then your FUP is now 480gb per month (120+480=600gb), Its also not possible to Gift Data back to the UL Plan number once that Data has been Gifted.

@gadget1973  You say unlimited yet you also say 105Gb.    With an unlimited data tariff you can gift from the only the first 120Gb of that tariff.  If you use any of the first 120Gb before you gift you’ll have less to gift.
with a limited data tariff like 105 you can gift what ever you want.    You can not lower your tariff allowance/cost unless you are upgrading.    On any tariff you have to keep the last 500meg if you try and gift it all away.

thanks for the reply yeah i'm on the unlimited i use around 20gb myself so thats probably where the 100gb left to share came from

i will be upgrading so thats fine. it will be the 100gb tariff though

so after i use 20gb or so per month that should let me data share 80gb ? i just didn't want to upgrade and then find they only let me share 20% of my 100gb that was my concern.

thanks again for the reply

@gadget1973  with a limited data tariff you can gift as much as you like apart from the last 500meg.
