My daughter is travelling in Japan, South Korea. Thailand, Indonesia and Australia. What is the cheapest way to give her data.roaming with ee? They are quoting £6+ per day which seems v expensive. Is it cheaper to just buy a sim in each country?

Yes, buying a SIM card locally will be a lot cheaper in the long run

@Bev36 : Look up the EE roaming rates as set out in https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/roaming-costs/ by country.

The reply above mine, includes a link to the online roaming costs tool.
In pure monetary terms, use of a local SIM in each country will nearly always work out cheaper than using roaming facilities.
The benefit of roaming is that your UK number travels with you, and calls & texts use that number as you travel - with the costs added to your UK bill. Clearly that has less relevance for data use, although websites you visit and apps you use, will identify you as being a foreign user rather than a UK-based user.

@Bev36 , just to add, if there is wifi available and it is free, that is the best way to use data.
