Why cant I get access on my mobile in certain places

Are you in the UK or abroad? Does your phone show coverage indicators when you can't "get access" to, I presume, mobile internet?

In U.K. 

itscin certain places were I don’t have access to the internet.

also when I was abroad although I paid the extra I couldn’t use the sat nav

@Des211 Are these places you were able to access mobile data in fine recently and then are now unable to, or have you been unable to access mobile data there for years for example?

Do calls and texts work when in these places or are you unable to use them either?

Is this really a question of, "why don't I have coverage in some places?"?

Or specifically in issue of using some functions when coverage is available?
