Voicemail now announcing number in message

Recently the EE voicemail message when called seems to be announcing in the voicemail call not only the time of the message, but also the number of the person who left the message. Annoying as it takes longer to get to hear the message, and unnecessary as the number comes up as a missed call. Can't see how to deactivate this, any ideas? Thanks

I've just come off a 50-minute call to 150 as I was passed from EE Support to Retentions to Billing and back to Support.

I am told by a Support Supervisor that this issue is not limited to EE. It affects all carriers worldwide and has been imposed by Apple and Samsung in their latest software updates (Samsung = One UI 7). How true that is I'm not sure, but raising a complaint with EE is just a waste of time, they are powerless against Samsung and Apple.

Us consumers just have to suck it up. Or go back to a Nokia 3310 🙂

(If you're not sure about that reference, ask your parents!)

Voicemail is a network feature, not a device one.

This is really really really annoying and completly unnecessary and makes me want to change providers! How completley unnecessary and a complete waste of time.

Urgent action reqired before i chage providers.

Can someone from EE raise this please. I suffer with a head injury and can not tolerate unnecessay things in life.

A complete waste.

If this doesn't get changed soon I will be switching supplier. Seems like a step backwards and is so so so so long and frustrating to listen to the number being spoken to you! Why would I need to know that and what use is it. If someone implemented that in my company I would rectify it immediately.

I also find it annoying and of no benefit and called EE today to be told that's how it now is! The operator just keep trying to get me to speak to upgrades .....

I then googled and found this thread so can see I am not alone. Let's see if EE listen to feedback

OMG,

Amazing, thanks for listening. Am sure there will be many happy customers out there with this news, it was driving me crazy, and I would have had to leave.

Thanks for listening. The call logs, and the voicemail notifications give all the detail I need so the number being read out was a moot point.
