I'm soooo frustrated!!! I just switched from Vodafone (yesterday). I waited the necessary (??) 24 hours before inserting the EE sim as instructed in the shop. Now I can't receive calls - they all divert immediately to the vodafone voicemail which I can no longer access. How do I change this please? I've restarted my phone many times already and don't seem to have an EE signal
Please can anyone give me advice?
None of the very annoying text links work. I'm already regretting switching! I've been trying to rectify this for an hour already!
Solved! See the answer below or view the solution in context.

Not sure why the retail shop advised you to wait 24hours. Did you submit your PAC in the retail shop?
When you buy a phone online and provide your PAC as part of the sales process, the PAC is held "in suspense" until you first activate your new EE SIM with its temporary number. At that point your PAC is submitted, and number ported across the following working day. If you do this during the evening, add another working day to the timescales.
If your PAC was submitted in the retail shop, I'd imagine the following working day theory would apply in the same way - albeit you'd have to query with the shop staff. The worst case seems to be that your PAC would have been submitted today, and thus port-in should be tomorrow, 20/09.

When did you first insert your EE SIM - with a temporary number - into your new phone? This matters. Your port-in will be submitted at this point, and number ported across the following working day.
Advising on the rest of your questions therefore follows from this.

Thank you - very helpful to know even if it's an annoying situation because it seems there's no signal indoors here on EE and I can't tell anyone calling me to try another number. Ok just got to be patient. Problem is I use th ephone for business. And my clients can't call me! Whoops!
appreciate your help - thank you

Thank you, yes it seems a bit of a drawn out process! I submitted the pac in the EE retail shop. They told me to wait 24 hours before putting the new EE sim into my phone.
Ok so I will wait another 24 hours to see if things resolve. Fingers crossed.
Thank you so much for your engagement - helped me a lot and I really appreciate your help.
