Still can use only on ai-fi on holiday in italy

very inconvenient

so far: enabled roaming on my iPhone, sent message roaming to 150, reply to their security queries, send the message to increase the cap …

@Gb1970it   You say you’ve sent a message to 150.  What’s your issue again as that message to 150 is a text message so obviously you can send texts. 

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Roaming isn't something you enable using your phone's menus, it's a network level setting that is activated by texting ROAMING to 150 before leaving the UK. Did you do this?

If you did so, and your phone shows a local network connection, then roaming is activated. What do you mean by "reply to their security queries"?
