Sending sms to French numbers

I am trying to send sms to French phone number, but get an error. Sending sms to UK domestic numbers works well. My roaming package is activated. What’s the issue?

Roaming refers to using your phone on foreign networks - what you're trying to do is text abroad from the UK, not roam.

Do you have your international call bar lifted? Not having done so would cause the symptoms you describe.

How do I check for international call bar?

Are you in UK when you try to send to a French no.? If so, you ain't roaming.

Are you on contract or PAYG? If PAYG, International call & texts such as this are not included in your allowances & are therefore chargeable. Do you have sufficient credit to cover them?

International calls & texts to overseas nos. from UK can be rather expensive but EE has a free add-on that anyone, on PAYG or contract, can apply for to give these calls & texts at a fraction of the standard rates. See The Free CALL ABROAD Add-on for Cheap Calls/Texts from UK .

Yes I am in UK and I use pay as you go. I purchased yesterday the 200 texts add on that promised I would be able to send sms to EU. It still doesn’t work
