Roaming in ireland

I went to Ireland and was sent a message saying I couldn’t access roaming but I have unlimited data so I don’t understand why I couldn’t use any? Even while in Northern Ireland it was the same. I am moving there next month so will I need to change carrier?

What was the exact text of the message you received?

Whatever your billing setup with either inclusive roaming or add-ons, you still need the roaming facility enabled in order for your phone to connect to foreign networks.

There is no charge for this, and texting ROAMING to 150 from the UK is the normal method.

Yes, you will need to move an Irish network. You need to spend at least 2 months in UK in any 4 to benefit from EE's roaming faculties.
