Roaming in Germany: thank you!

Hi,

I just wanted to say a big thank you for finally re-enabling Telekom as a roaming partner in Germany after a couple of years of having to live with O2, which was SO bad

Also, 5G roaming? Woaa I was not expecting this, nice surprise, working really well.

The only thing that's really missing now is VoLTE/5G when roaming, it's really annoying to loose internet during calls.

IPv6 when roaming would be cool too, but not as critical.

Thanks again for the recent improvements.

In fairness the signal is good on Vodafone, I just need some data connectivity.
I’m back here again for a week next week, help please!!

Same here, just returned from Germany. Very disappointed with only O2's (poor) 5G, and Vodafone EDGE. My phone seems to believe that EE can still roam on Telekom network, and wasted a lot of time connecting to it.

I’ve just arrived in Germany again. I was on O2 and then got switched to Vodafone due to a bad signal and guess what - Edge data. This is not what I would expect considering that I’m paying for the best unlimited business tariff at £43 per month.

I’m now running off my pay-as-you-go, three data Sim with ‘Go Roam’. This is giving me fantastic 5G coverage on Telekom but I’m free to connect to all three networks here in Germany.

The only reason I have this Sim which cost £30 for 24 gig of data that last two years is for far away trips to places like Hong Kong and Singapore. It was never intended to pick up the slack when I’m in Germany.

I think when I go back, I’ll work out how much data I have used and ask EE very nicely to reimburse me otherwise I’ll just have to give them a tiny piece of my mind because that’s all I can spare 🙂😂😂😂

Wow that’s great, it’s nice to hear some positive stories. I hope I get the same in Hamburg next week. Was that with O2?

I was in Munich this week and got 534,21  (very specific I know - I took a screen shot) on o2-de roaming with my EE sim.

I’ve just arrived in Germany for the first time in 6 weeks and I’m delighted to say that they have re-enable Telekom on 5G if you select it manually. The default is O2 which is still rubbish and they’ve removed Vodafone completely.

This is great news, and I would like to think it is because they’ve listened, but you never know with EE because they change roaming partners very easily.

I also just purchased an O2 – UK Sim because I know that they roam on Telekom  as well as O2 Germany  it’s only £7 a month with 12GB data and no roaming charges in the EU, but it’s there as a back up.

Fair play to EE if they have listened, and it stays that way, but I’m not holding my breath
