I am currently travelling in USA. I have a pay-as-you-go subscription. I added a data add-on to allow roaming, but I am not able to connect to the internet at all. Roaming is activated.
My phone is an Appo Reno 3.

The unlimited data add-on is for UK and EU only. That's why! You needed to buy a (small) roaming data add-on offered when you landed.

@jmgijzel : What's this roaming data add-on called?
Did you use that PAYG SIM for making calls or texts in UK before you left to go abroad? EE PAYG SIMs need 1st activating on EE's home UK network. If it wasn't you can't now use it until you return to UK.

Yes, the payg sim has been used and activated in the uk before I left.

I can receive text and phone calls. Connected to at&t.
I bought the data add on unlimited data (40£).

The guide on the website, buy data add on as soon as land.
There is no specific data add on for roaming available.
