Roaming Further plan

Booked roaming further package way before leaving the uk, it’s still not working and my phone has become a brick.. any clues why this is happening?  Where the 4G/WiFi symbol normally is it just says SOS.

can’t get through to EE on the phone to physically speak to someone. Can’t text 150 or the regular telephone number either.  Have not received the “welcome to roaming further” text that my colleagues have received either - very frustrating.

Tried the WiFi off/data on etc - was even trying to remove the roaming package from my plan and rebuy but it won’t let me do that either.  Have tried switching it off and on again but nothing.

any help would be appreciated ..

Hi @CarlosSOS

Welcome to the community.

Could you try manually connecting to a different available network please?

Chris

@CarlosSOS   Did you enable roaming your EE account?  Purchasing add ons doesn’t enable roaming.    A call/text to 150 is still a call or text so obviously this will not work

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Have tried to do this but no networks are appearing.   It works on other devices but not mine!

Can you remove the roaming so that I can re purchase it again?  there is clearly a glitch somewhere. I didn’t receive the usual “welcome” text when i landed, however others did.   I am unable to use my phone at all, where you have the 4G/wifi logo mine says SOS.  I have mirrored what others have done but nothing has happened, its still a brick.

My wife has tried to contact EE to sort this out on her EE phone but they wont speak to her because I am the account holder.  I cannot make calls or send texts to either the telephone number or 150.  I sent this message earlier - apologies if you now have it twice.   Thanks Chris B (Grand Master) below but you are right i cant access 150 or the telephone number.  Any other ideas?

Many thanks

Yes have the roaming enabled, even switched in off and on again, but alas nothing.  I've literally mirrored what the rest of the group have done but I have zero access to anything (other than the camera)      8-(

I was hoping EE could remove it so that I can repurchase it ... but i guess its not that simple ... it wont let me delete or remove from my account either ..

Did you explain to the agent that you were calling from a different phone to that which you wanted to query?

There is no account access on this forum.

That's talking about your phone, not your EE a/c. You can't switch it on & off in your a/c. You enable roaming by texting ROAMING to 150 before you leave UK. Did you not do that? If so, that's why it's not working. Buying the Roam Abroad Pass billing add-on doesn't enable roaming.

If you think I helped please feel free to hit the "Thumbs Up" button below.

To phone EE CS: Dial Freephone +44 800 079 8586 - Option 1 for Mobile Phone & Mobile Broadband or Option 2 for Home Broadband & Home Phone

ISPs: 1999: Freeserve 48K Dial-Up > 2005: Wanadoo 1 Meg BB > 2007: Orange 2 Meg BB > 2008: Orange 8 Meg LLU > 2010: Orange 16 Meg LLU > 2011: Orange 20 Meg WBC > 2014: EE 20 Meg WBC > 2020: EE 40 Meg FTTC > 2022:EE 80 Meg FTTC SoGEA > 2025 EE 150 Meg FTTP

Thank you for the above telephone numbers I will give those a try.  Yes did all the above before I left the UK.

I did manage to add the roaming further package overnight to a different account for my daughter and that worked fine - its just my number that's not working.  EE added the roaming further pass over the phone which is probably why I cannot edit it.

Thanks for the contact numbers - will give them a go.

Yes I did that, she is in the UK - hence them not allowing her to speak on my behalf sadly.

This is no possible as there is no network to connect to.  My phone simply has the SOS in the top right hand corner (where 4/5G/Wifi is).

I cannot text or call 150.

EE Please can you remove the roaming further plan from the number ending 88 so that I can repurchase it and get it working. or send the text to my number enabling it!

Sad thing is I'll probably be home by the time this is sorted.  Ridiculous!
