Roaming Further plan

Booked roaming further package way before leaving the uk, it’s still not working and my phone has become a brick.. any clues why this is happening?  Where the 4G/WiFi symbol normally is it just says SOS.

can’t get through to EE on the phone to physically speak to someone. Can’t text 150 or the regular telephone number either.  Have not received the “welcome to roaming further” text that my colleagues have received either - very frustrating.

Tried the WiFi off/data on etc - was even trying to remove the roaming package from my plan and rebuy but it won’t let me do that either.  Have tried switching it off and on again but nothing. 

any help would be appreciated ..

Everything thus far suggests that the roaming facility is not enabled on your line, which causes a lack of network connection. Without a mobile network available to use, the inability to call & text naturally follows.

Adding and removing billing add-ons will not resolve this, adding the roaming facility to enable a foreign network connection will. This can only be done by the account holder contacting CS from another phone or potentially a web-calling app such as Skype.

Unfortunately travelling abroad without activating roaming first, does cause this catch-22 situation.
