Roaming Fees

Hi all, I'd just like to ask for the umpteenth time why when I have a plan that specifically states I have unlimited data and free EU roaming, I am constantly charged £2 a day for Roaming in the EU? I have asked sooo many times .... and would love to know what loophole they're using to keep charging me??

@Chris416 : Unless you have either of these:

  1. A contract that started before 07/07/21.
  2. The Roam Abroad Pass as an extra, inclusive or paid-for.

you don't have free EU roaming but instead have to pay £2 for each day you use any of your UK allowances in the EU.

Yes have the earlier date contract and negotiated the conditions on phone specifically. The extra charges have only appeared over last 2 months again - all was according to negotiated plan before. Occasionally they try and add extra charges, then when I call to remind them of the terms they take the charges off again. It's like they keep trying and you have to keep reminding - a boring game!

@Chris416   What did you negotiate if you contract started before the 7/7/21 as all contracts before that date had roaming included.  Only contracts taken out after that date pay for to have roaming when needed.  This includes any upgrades as it’s a new contract.

Hi @Chris416

Thanks for coming here.

If you log into your My EE app and select Plan and subscriptions, what date shows for your contract start date?

Leanne 🙂

Hi All, thanks for the replies. Contract start date is October 2021 and the £2 per day roaming Add-on shows, however when I click on that it says 'Free' which is what I set up when I transferred over from BT. They have tried adding this charge before then when I complained they agreed it shouldn't be there and removed it but now they are not responding.

So you don't have free EU roaming as your contract started after 07/07/21.

The £2 per day roaming Add-on is free to get of itself but all it does is just give you the right to use your UK allowances in the UK for £2 each day that you do. Almost everybody on contracts after 07/07/21 has the same free add-on.
