Roaming Charges for Turkey Extortionate

Burakiosaurus

EE's roaming charges for Turkey are Extortionate !

£7.84 a day for 500MB, so a 10 day holiday is going to cost you an extra £78.40 on top of what you pay monthly!

So many other operators provide better deals, that I'm shocked how poorly EE handle roaming to Turkey.

Anyone else figured out a better way to sort out their roaming to Turkey?

I think you'll find it's worse/more expensive than that:Capture.JPG

@XRaySpeX    Not according to THIS is not.

@Burakiosaurus  Unfortunately there is no way around this unless you use public Wi-Fi. ( use a VPN if you do )

Roaming cost are also down to the network provider of that country not just EE.  Your payment for that usage is also paid to the network provider so while you think EE is ripping you off try look at at the network your going to be using who want payment for you using their network.

Alternatively enjoy the holiday and time away from your device.  You can also just turn of all apps from using cellular data on the device.

The  most cost-effective way of using your phone abroad will always be to get a local SIM and use the local operators directly - but roaming does provide the convenience of taking your own number and paying on your usual monthly bill.

Some countries are more expensive than others, and enjoying the trip is always a good alternative!

Thank you everyone.

The charges EE put forward for daily usage are an absolute joke compared to the inclusive roaming you get with Vodafone.

That could in part, be down to the fact that Vodafone has partner networks globally (including Turkey) which means they offer much more cost effective roaming with their Global Roaming service.

Local Sim it is! It's for my mum so she can keep in touch whilst away for 6 weeks.

And that’s excluding VAT @ 20%

£9.80 per day the robbing

£6.85 Per day inclusive of data and VAT on Vodaphone

@Philbarber1 : No, it isn't. All EE prices are quoted inclusive of VAT. It's £7.84 / day.

@Philbarber1  Now you’ve been corrected just to point out your also paying the roaming network for using that network not just EE.
