Does the Roam Abroad Pass apply in the Cook Islands? They have political links to New Zealand so I’m hopeful….

@Rubberlegs : No, they are a nation of their own independent of NZ, c.f. Channel Isles & UK.

As it is not in EU, you cannot use your usual UK allowances there but will need to pay the charges or buy roaming add-ons as set out in https://ee.co.uk/help/help-new/roaming-costs/countries/cookislands.

If you are on contract, remember to text ROAMING to 150 before you leave UK to ensure roaming is enabled on your account.

Just checking I understand fully. The Roam  Abroad Pass will have no effect in the Cook Islands. If I want to add minutes or texts then I can purchase an add-on but if I’m just looking for internet data then I have to wait for a text to arrive when I get there and respond to that?

Hi @Rubberlegs

This is correct, you can find costs and add-ons in our Roaming Costs, Help page.

Thanks 🙂

Leanne.

So the text from EE upon landing describes the costs of receiving and making calls and texts to the UK and the cost to call Customer Services in the UK. It also states that there is no roaming agreement so you have to connect to WiFi for data.

I purchased a Vodafone voucher at my resort which gave me five days access to hotspots throughout the Island but you have to sign on to each one and they don’t overlap. Works just about…

I believe you can also purchase a physical Vodaphone SIM for $49…
