Red dot for a voicemail will not clear

Have a red dot on my phone icon saying I have a voicemail but there are no saved messages

Call your mobile from another phone and leave a message. Wait for the voicemail notification, then call voicemail from your mobile and delete or save the message.

This should clear the notification.

Get somebody to send you a VM, listen to it & then delete it. See if that clears it.

Excellent advice worked like a dream. Thank you.

This does work, but you have to go to Phone on your iPhone app settings and turn off Live Voicemail first. You can turn it back on once you have cleared the dot.
