How does that differ from the roaming pass that you have to buy? i too thought this had been added without my knowledge. its not clear at all.

What's the question you have? You can get current advice in this new post. Roaming within the EU is subject to either a daily charge or the monthly roaming pass.

@Happylady21 : The Roam Abroad Pass (by texting ROAMING PASS to 150) is a billing add-on costing £25 per billing month that covers the cost of using your phone abroad in selected countries.
The roaming ability or permission (by texting ROAMING to 150) is a free a/c setting that allows you to use your phone abroad in the 1st place & is required before you can ever benefit from the Roam Abroad Pass above.
