I also have this exact same problem. Arrived in Spain and I can’t use my data at all even though it says 5/4G. Did you ever get yours sorted?

Does your phone show coverage of any Spanish networks? Have you tried alternative local networks?

Can you make & receive calls? Can you send & receive text messages?

Did you receive a welcome text message on arrival?

I got the welcome texts from EE. Then I logged onto app and bought roaming pass for one month. 
It automatically connects to orange network. Everything looks like it should work but then I can’t use any data. 
I’ve removed my spend cap. 
Just sent a text and it looks like it worked.
usually when I’ve done the same when going to Europe my phone just works and I don’t need to do anything. 

 

I just tried alternative local networks and that didn’t work either

@Rebjh  Do a manual network search and select Moviestar.   I had this issue not so long ago and data wouldn’t work for me when selected on orange.   also make sure that on your device you have enabled data roaming this will be in the cellular settings of your device.  Data roaming allows you to use cellular data when abroad provided you have roaming email your EE account
