Iv just arrived in French Polynesia and have the same issue. Tried to select manual networks already with no luck. Any other suggestions?

Did you check for roaming being enabled on your SIM before leaving the UK? This is required for your phone to connect to foreign networks and is normally done by texting ROAMING to 150.
