You didn't really get an answer on this forum but as I'm doing the same, what happened in the end, in terms of paying for data for your ee SIM once you got there?

Hi @SoNotDavid,

Welcome to the EE Community. 🙂

You'll receive a text when you arrive with details on how to purchase a data add-on.

Just remember to text ROAMING to 150 before you travel if you're using a pay monthly plan.

Hope this helps.

Hi, I pre-bought some texts and calls through Ee before I went just in case. When we landed we had I think 3 options to buy different data bundles for a week. I went for the middle one but needed to buy another later on.  I forgot to have data switched off for a few days in the middle of the Serengeti 🙄. It used the data first even though there was WiFi at the camp. I logged onto local WiFi wherever possible- travelling with child and iPad 😀.  We also set up a family/friends WhatsApp group before we went which was great for sending messages and snaps for free. Tip -  If you are doing a safari, check before you go if the jeep has charger points as this helped a lot keeping cameras and phones charged through the day without having to carry portable chargers. We had a fantastic time - hope you do too!
