Hi guys,
I have had an EE Booster Box for the last 8 years (because of non-existent indoor signal) and didn't realise that it operated on 3g. This service was terminated by EE last weekend and after being directed to turn WiFi calling on, on my Moto G9 Plus, it didn't appear as an option on my network services menu, despite supporting Wifi Calling . Back to EE and they confirm that on my account with EE, wifi calling had been authorised, so must be a Moto problem. Back to Moto and they tell me that EE only support Wifi Calling if you buy the phone from them !!
I am now stuck between a rock and a hard place and can not make or receive calls at home (just enough signal for SMS) - back where I was 8 years ago. Any suggestions please ? (Use Whatsapp for family and friends and searched the Play Store looking for a solution)

Hi @Ozzie451
Are you due for an upgrade soon? It may be worth speaking with our Mobile Care team so they can run through some options with you.

Hi Chris,
That is the upsetting thing - I only bought the G9+ about three months ago as I need a big phone for my 'tired old eyes' !! This phone is actionable for wifi calling, if only the EE Tech Dept will do so for me. It is a very good phone.

WiFi-calling is EE's preferred solution for indoor coverage issues, has been for several years now, and this is reflected across other operators too.
It's a standard feature on pay-monthly accounts and doesn't need activation on your account, but does need SW support on your phone. That support is much improved on SIM-free devices compared with a couple of years ago, but ultimately - EE can only support phones they have supplied.
