Me too ! I am on pay as u go monthly plan only and been told the same So ok EE but the  first time I send a picture message over my home wi fi or WhatsApp and you charge me it will  be  goodbye to you  EE !               No this charge as never been known before  and I have been with EE/BT along time abroad yes but not in the UK !

@Watchful65 : Whatsapp only uses data. You are not charged for sending picture messages over it.

You are charged for sending pictures attached or embedded in normal text msgs. This is the same for all networks.

It's hard to envisage how you can be with EE/BT while only abroad. You must be constantly roaming.

The ability to send pictures & video by either MMS or an internet-based app is a phone function not a network one.

All UK networks charge for the different uses in the exact same way, and neither will it make any difference if you are in the UK or roaming abroad.

A VF user in the UK will pay extra for an MMS compared with an SMS, exactly like an EE user roaming. It is a phone function, as per the previous posts in this thread.

I have iMessages enabled. I have been charged over £100 for sending photos using iMessage and airdrop. Can you please explain this?

@Ausgael  you’re not charged for iMessage or airdrop.    What does your bill breakdown say the charge is for ? Can you post a picture of this (remove any personal information from it first)

To contact EE Customer Services dial 150 From your EE mobile or 0800 956 6000 from any other phone.

Hi Chris_B,

Thank you for reaching out. Through further investigation I have discovered that I have been charged for one picture iMessage and one text iMessage that didn't send. The one picture message I tried to send to my family using iMessage would not send and my phone kept saying that that it wouldn't send and to try to resend. You know the little red symbol next to a message that doesn't send that says resend? It was during a time when the network would have been under high usage as there were  50,000 people at least in our town at a Fair. the population of our town usually is around the 8,000 mark. The same thing happenes every year and you can't call or send messages due to the strain on the network but I forgot. The Bill says that I sent an MMS not iMessage 130 times to three different numbers (my family). My phone showed no indication that the picture or one text message I tried to send were not being sent as iMessages. My phone and my families phones show that I didn't sent any messages on the dates and times in question.

What could cause that to happen?

Thank you in advance.

Thanks for explaining that for us @Ausgael.

Are all the family members that you sent this to iPhone users?

If you create a group chat and add a non iMessage number, this can sometimes default to MMS.

Peter

HI Peter, this is an establish group of iPhone users. I have never been charged before or since.
i have discovered since then as I am still investigating. There were 150000 people. Of the infrastructure couldn’t cope with this number of people could the iMessage have been corrupted into an MMS?
