Problem receiving or making texts and calls

My sim has been unable to receive and make calls and texts for a couple weeks now. I’ve been out of the uk In Senegal and it stopped working

Are you on a pay monthly contract or PAYG? 

If you're on a pay monthly contract did you activate roaming before leaving the UK?

EE standard opening hours are Monday to Friday, 8am to 9pm - Saturday and Sunday, 8am to 8pm.

I am on a monthly payment and yes it was on. They even sent a welcome text when I landed, it worked for a week then stopped
