Hi
I am abroad, czech republic, connected over 4G and I am having issues with speed. Results on speed tests are showing it is limited to 0.3mbps which is absolutely unusable for any work. Barely managing sending simple messages.
especially for £80pm I am losing patience.
is EE limiting the speed on internet over roaming?

Is it the same on all of the providers you've tried, @theturbulence?
Is anyone else with you having similar problems?

Yes mate they were all the some. Vodafone IT did not even find network. Tried at least another in the morning as well switching to manual again to no avail, it was the same.
i have definitely heard this from friends at least a couple of times. And a colleague in the same trip also said he had dodgy internet through the trip.

Hi there,
Same is happening to me in Spain. I pay a stupid amount of money a day for roaming and even typing this message is taking me ages.
Pretty appalling since EE promises I can use my data ‘exactly the same as I do at home’ but not true; opening a normal page takes ages and sometimes doesn’t even open.
I am here for work and it’s not really helping at all.

Sadly I don’t know what we can other than keep complaining until enough of us cause enough noise for someone, probably not EE ‘cos they are useless, to take notice and start to offer a superior service. If I were one of the smaller providers I would jump on this opportunity to differentiate and win market share but it doesnt seem that any of their marketing teams are too switched on…

Having just compared my “5g” bandwidth to that of a locally sourced 4g sim both connected to orange in Spain. I can confirm that ee is restricted. So rather than pay roaming charges or for a roaming add on, you are better off with a local payg sim.
it doesn’t matter whether it’s ee or the local network is to blame. It happens. Although I think the same is true for other uk providers
