Full Roaming add-on

I have an EE mobile account with four phones on it, all having the EU roaming add on. However only one of the phones has the Full Roaming add-on, which I understand confirms that the  SIM is unlocked for usage overseas. If that is the case shouldn't this add-on be registered against all of the phones  on my account?

"Full Roaming" indicates that the SIM is set up to roam onto networks worldwide, as opposed to the "EU Roaming" add-on which indicates the SIM is set up to roam onto networks only in EU countries.

Important to note these add-ons are not billing add-ons and do not reduce the rate for roaming.

OK. Are you therefore saying that this "Marker" covers all of the phones I have  on my account?

@AndyRoberts108 : No, each contract & no. is individual & has its own roaming billing features. I presume that the SIM with "Full" (actually EU + ROW Zone 1) is on a Full Works plan & the others are on a EE Essential Plus or All Rounder plan.

Actual all SIMs are "unlocked" for usage overseas but whether the cost are included or not depends on the plan they are on. All your SIMs are enabled for roaming outside EU + ROW Zone 1 but you will have to pay roaming charges.

Each line will have its own Roaming setting. 3 of your account lines are set up to roam in the EU and 1 is set up with the facility to roam in all countries including those within the EU.

As for billing add-ons, these should appear as "Roam in EU" for those with inclusive EU Roaming, and "Roam in EU" alongside "Roam Further Pass" or "Roaming Pass ROW" for those with Inclusive EU + Zone 1 Roaming.

As mentioned previously, "Full roaming" or "EU roaming" is just the capability to connect but does nothing for the resulting charges without a billing add-on in parallel.

I am confused, your FAQs define Full Roaming as  "a network permission that lets your phone connect to foreign networks worldwide", that implies that it should be registered against all of the phones on the account, but your 2nd paragraph suggests that all SIMs automatically have this feature, so the add-on  would appear to be redundant and confusing. Incidentally, the phone in question is not on a Full Works contact rather an Essentials one and on checking Roaming I would  have to pay charge for say USA. Could you clarify please

Your comments have confused the thread I am afraid.

The FAQs are correct. It is something which has to be enabled by texting "ROAMING" to 150 and following the advice to ensure that particular number is set up to roam in the country you are travelling to.

In your case, you would need to follow this x3 for the numbers that only have "EU roaming" if you wanted use of these in the US. This would switch them to "Full roaming" to allow them to connect in the US.

Essentials plans do not include Free-of-charge roaming in the USA (Zone 1 Country), therefore you would need to purchase a Roaming Pass on arrival for those plans you wish to use while visiting.

A 24-hour pass would cost £6 each, with a 7-day pass costing £30 each.

There are 2 aspects of roaming to consider:

1. The permission or ability of a SIM to roam in certain areas of the world. This may be either worldwide, in the EU only or not at all. This is usually triggered by texting ROAMING to 150 from a SIM while in UK & following a dialogue. However it may already be set up when you 1st get your SIM, as I think yours may be. Whatever it is always SIM specific. It has no relationship as to whether your roaming costs are covered while roaming.
2. The covering of roaming costs while abroad. Certain plans may include the costs of roaming in the EU only (EE Essential Plus or All Rounder) or in the EU + ROW Zone 1 (Full Works). Even if you are not covered in some Zone you may buy a Roaming Pass to cover you there in most countries. Whatever it is always also SIM specific.

It is not clear which you are referring to in your OP but from the use of "add-on" I assumed a Pass & therefore 2.
