Picture messages

Hi there. Bought my daughter a sim only plan for her birthday which she activated yesterday.
she then started sending me picture messages and emojis in texts.
can I ask does anyone know if it will charge her?
we had pre capped her sim to 0.00 so she shouldn’t be able to send pictures through text message correct? Or it is because she’s linked to WiFi?

any ideas? Been on hold for 30mins to have them cut me off.

@Lillauren657 : Picture messages (MMS) are not included in your allowances & will be charged 83p each when you send any. However if you have a Spend Cap of £0 you will be prevented from sending them.

Depending on whether your daughter's phone is Android or Apple, emojis can both be included in SMS text messages or excluded. Android phones at least, have an on-screen notification of when an SMS is being converted - the user can then choose whether to proceed at cost or delete the offending character.

If your daughter's phone is connected to WiFi, then calls & messages will be sent over WiFi-calling which is still chargeable, exactly as if they were sent over the mobile network. It's only messaging apps such as WhatsApp & Messenger that are purely data-based and just use whichever connection is available.
