How do i stop messages going out that are being charged at 0.68 per message when i turn my sim on abroad.

You can avoid chargeable messaged by setting your Spend Cap before going abroad, or using a different messaging service rather than SMS.

There are add-ons that are available to significantly reduce the cost of sending text messages abroad, but equally if you'd rather not pay - don't send them! I vaguely recall these come in bundles of 60 & 120 texts and work out at a few pence per message.

Messaging apps will use the internet to send & receive.
