Hi,

 

 

 

I'm currently abroad and trying to use my phone, I can't make or receive calls or texts. After trying to manually connect to the local network it fails and says "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network". Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi @Spud5700,

Yes, if your SIM is faulty, you can pick up a replacement in and EE Store.

@Spud5700 , are you on pay as you go or monthly contract?

I take it you have used the SIM card in the UK first?

If on a pay monthly contract, did you make sure that roaming, call abroad and premium calls are activated?

On pay as you go, need to make sure that you have enough credit, also where abroad are you?

To contact EE customer service dial 150 from your mobile phone or ring customer service for free using Skype or another phone: +44 800 079 8586 or +44 800 956 6000.

I have used phone in UK without problems, its on pay as you go .last year
I had same problem and contacted EE directly and got passed from numerous
people up to "top guru".
It Has credit on it but I haven't been able to use it .I had the welcome to
Spain text etc and welcome to Portugal text ,but phone will not connect to
mobile network tried manually and same outcome it shows it is connected to
NOS and says sim card incompatible my wife's phone works and is connected
to that network.
Last year I asked for u unlocking code and received it .if I put a
portuguese sim in will it work and will I be able to put EE sim back in to
see if works?
I have reset phone and sim card but has made no difference
Looking forward to your thoughts

If you've been able to use your phone on Spanish networks previously, then roaming is evidently enabled.

Try manually selecting an alternative local network.

@bristolian , @Spud5700 has tried doing a manual search for a local network and that did not work either.

@Spud5700 , if you have an unlocked phone, you can always put a local SIM card in, and you should then be able to put the EE SIM card back in the phone, not sure why you are having this problem though.

Hi update Lyca sim works 4g network for internet etc. But no voice calls or text,

Yes data worked but no calls or able to text.
