Hi, hope this is in the correct forum. I have an Oppo Find X2 lite with an EE Sim only contract based in the UK. I am currently in Singapore, Before I came I checked roaming is enabled with EE and my phone says enabled but I cannot get any signal to send / receive calls and texts or get any mobile internet signals at all. I have been through the settings over and over. Its really causing issues as I ned my phone for the 2 stage verification on Microsoft stuff and I am here for work. Never had this before with other network providers. Any suggestions what to try? I turned off the auto select for networks and it does list some but I cannot manually connect through any. Even if there is a way I can look at my texts online via wifi to complete some verifications it would be a big help

Hello @fatr1ch1e.
Welcome to the community.
Did you ensure roaming was enabled by giving us a call or texting ROAMING to 150?
Speak soon,
Katie

Roaming isn't a setting you enable on your phone, it's a network-level permission that needs enabling on your account.
If roaming has been correctly enabled, the common fix for local coverage issues is to try manually selecting an alternative local operator and/or toggling flight mode.

As per the original message, roaming is enabled on my account. I have tried manually selecting operators. I have tried rebooting also.

Hi @fatr1ch1e,
Have you been able to test your phone in more than one location to rule out a local network issue?
You can chat with Customer Care online at ee.co.uk/contact-ee if needed, they'll be happy to help.

I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with your Oppo Find X2 lite while roaming in Singapore. It's possible that there may be some network compatibility issues between EE and the local network providers in Singapore.
Here are a few things that you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
Manually select a network: As you mentioned, you can try manually selecting a network on your phone by turning off the auto-select option in your network settings. You can then select a local network provider in Singapore and see if you can connect to their network.
Check your APN settings: Access Point Name (APN) settings determine how your phone connects to the mobile network. You can check your APN settings in your phone's settings and make sure that they are set to the correct values for EE. You can usually find these values on the EE website or by contacting their customer service.
Reset network settings: Sometimes resetting your network settings can help resolve connectivity issues. You can do this by going to Settings > System > Reset options > Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth.
Check with EE customer service: You can contact EE customer service and inquire about any known issues with roaming in Singapore. They may also be able to assist you with troubleshooting the issue and ensuring that your account is properly configured for roaming.
In terms of accessing your texts online, you can try using a messaging app that supports online messaging, such as WhatsApp or Telegram, to complete your verifications. Alternatively, you can try accessing your text messages through a web-based messaging service, such as Google Voice or Skype.

Hi, i tried a local sim and the phone had no issues connecting to mobile and internet. With the EE sim I can connect to a local network manually but there is no service at all through it, as if not connected but it does say connected when trying.
every link i look for to contact EE is via a mobile number or text service.
Absolutely fuming now, never had a mobile provider with such poor customer service for people over seas. Surely they should realise there should be an online chat feature for people that cannot connect to their network
